This recipe is, hands-down, the absolute best dessert recipe I have ever come across. It is very easy, requires few ingredients (most of which are usually already at home), and is a huge hit wherever I take it. Seriously, if I had to pick one dessert recipe from the list of recipes I’ve posted on my blog to have you venture out and try, it’s this one.
There, I said it.
Now, add it to your holiday baking list. If there are any left, which is highly unlikely, have them alongside a cup of coffee for breakfast.
All you need are a few simple ingredients: cream cheese, crescent roll dough, sugar, vanilla, butter, and cinnamon. See, told you it only called for a few ingredients!
Next, cream the sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla until velvety and smooth. Yum. Oh, and it is a requirement to sneak a taste of this glorious mixture. Contain yourself, however, it gets better!
Take a rectangular pan, spray with non-stick spray, and lay out the first roll of crescent roll dough, pinch the seems together if they tear. Then, spread the cream cheese mixture over the top of the dough and make sure you get all those corners! We don’t want anyone to get cheated out of the filling
Once you use up all the filling, gently lay the second can of crescent roll dough over the top. Make sure not to press down on the dough, it just needs to lay over the previous layers. The final step, brush with the melted unsalted butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar.

Now, bake it up until it’s golden brown on top and the middle has set up. Let it cool completely and then cut into the size squares you desire. No matter what size you decide to cut them into, you will be back for seconds and thirds. I guarantee it.
Please note that I do not use the full amount of butter called for by the original recipe. I have cut it to 1/4 cup and it’s just as decadent and toasty. Just be sure to add enough to allow the cinnamon-sugar to adhere to the dough.
