My name is Marty and I am an Elementary school teacher in South Florida. I live with my
boyfriend fiance and love to travel. When I am not working and traveling, I spend most of my time in the kitchen, at the gym, or with my family.
What can I say? Life is good!
Since as far back as I can remember I’ve had a passion for cooking, baking, altering recipes, and putting my own personal twists on traditional recipes (sometimes simply because I have to use whatever I have on-hand!). There’s just something about perusing the pantry and having your mind swirling and twirling attempting to put the ingredients together for a tasty, satisfying meal. I’ve read countless books on healthy eating, borrowed tons of cookbooks from my local library, and read cooking blogs regularly to help me put ideas together to compile some sure-fire recipes for day to day cooking, for entertaining, or for those “indulgent” days (yummm).
In addition to my love of cooking, I participate in many local running events including 5k’s, 10k’s, half-marathon’s, and triathlons. Cooking is my creative outlet (The Fiance doesn’t mind), exercise is my stress relief, and this blog is where I get to share my passion.
This blog will have a combination of exercise tips, workouts, healthy recipes, recipes for cheat days (my favorite), product reviews and recommendations, and my personal successes and struggles with keeping healthy and active. My hope: That Salty, Sweets ‘N’ Sneaks will allow me to share my recipes and keep me on track, healthy, and feeling great.
I am not a professional photographer, esteemed writer, personal trainer, or gourmet chef. I just post recipes too tasty to keep to myself and workouts so tough they leave me like jelly.
Thanks for reading and enjoy,
Salty, Sweets ‘N’ Sneaks
