So many times I watch as my family whips out the traditional pumpkin pie after our Thanksgiving feast.  I’ll be honest.  I’m not a fan.

I smile, i have a bite, but it really doesn’t do anything for me.  Nothing.  This year I volunteered to provide the pumpkin dessert for our family meal, which obviously would not include the traditional pumpkin pie.  I just had to shake things up.  (more…)

This recipe is, hands-down, the absolute best dessert recipe I have ever come across.  It is very easy, requires few ingredients (most of which are usually already at home), and is a huge hit wherever I take it.  Seriously, if I had to pick one dessert  recipe from the list of recipes I’ve posted on my blog to have you venture out and try, it’s this one.

Cream. Cheese. Squares.

There, I said it.

Now, add it to your holiday baking list.  If there are any left, which is highly unlikely, have them alongside a cup of coffee for breakfast.

Enough talk…

The Boyfriend watches an obscene amount of football on Sunday’s. I, however, don’t really watch football at all. Something about fantasy football…blah blah blah…he has to beat his friend…blah blah blah…whatever!

Football Sunday’s are a time for me to relax, surf the internet, and whip up some interesting creations for him to try during the game. Boyfriends are great guinea pigs 🙂

On the menu for today were two of his favorite food items ever put together into one dish!

Biscuits and hot dogs!

(Good thing his favorite foods aren’t something like pickles and ice-cream. Ewww, not a good combination.)

Boyfriend hungry.  It’s lunchtime.  He doesn’t want a sandwich.

What’s a girl to do???

This is what she I did…

I whipped up Jennie-O turkey Sausage & Mozzarella Crescent Rolls!

They were super quick, easy, and best of all, cheesy and delicious.

Here’s what you do…

I am a chocoholic, like a semi-sweet and dark obsessed chocoholic, and these White Chocolate Almond Oatmeal Cookies are undoubtedly my new favorite.

All I have to say is thank goodness I quartered the recipe.  If not, I would have been in real trouble!

Healthy Yogurt Toppings!

20110915-085211.jpgLately I’m on a Greek yogurt kick. I buy flavored yogurt for The Boyfriend and plain fat-free Greek yogurt for me. I am in complete awe at the high protein content and why I had never converted before! Yogurt is what I run to when I’m craving something sweet, and due to my sweet tooth, I have played around with quite a few ingredients.

Here are a few of my favorite yogurt mix-ins! I’ve tried to keep them on the healthier side, if I’m going to have a quality snack like Greek yogurt, I don’t want to overdo it with the add-ins. Also, since I use plain yogurt, I have more flexibility with what I add to flavor the yogurt.

Enjoy 😛

  Plain yogurt with:

  • honey drizzle & chopped nuts (walnuts or almonds are great)
  • toasted coconut flakes & Splenda/Stevia extract
  • 1/8 tsp coconut extract & Splenda/Stevia extract
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder, & Splenda/Stevia Extract
  • Fresh fruit (especially berries: strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries make it seem like a dessert!) (more…)

They say to avoid grocery shopping when hungry. Well, I guess I forgot. Whoops. Did I really buy a 10 ounce bag of Pretzel m&m’s without a plan? I absolutely did. As a matter of fact, I tore that sucker open and popped a few on the ride home from the grocery store.

I must admit I did quite a bit of research on what I could possibly whip together with these candy coated pretzelary confections (It’s a word..I swear!). Pretzel m&m cookies was always an option, crushing them and throwing them on my new favorite ice-cream: So Delicious Coconut Milk Vanilla Bean, or just tossing them in some trail mix. Eventually I ran into something that sounded like it’d hit the spot. What spot exactly? I dunno, I guess the Pretzel m&m spot, wherever that may be!
