I’ve Moved…

Yay!  I’ve decided to move to a new site.  I just (with my brother’s help) got it up and running today.


I will continue to share recipes, workouts, product reviews, and all that fun stuff 🙂

I am a chocoholic, like a semi-sweet and dark obsessed chocoholic, and these White Chocolate Almond Oatmeal Cookies are undoubtedly my new favorite.

All I have to say is thank goodness I quartered the recipe.  If not, I would have been in real trouble!

Bananas Foster Oatmeal: Breakfast or Dessert???

Breakfast has recently become my favorite meal of the day. It’s so versatile, you can whip up a savory egg dish, a decadent pastry, or even one of a multitude of oatmeal creations! Since I tend to have a sweet tooth, I love that I can get away with having dessert for breakfast and not feel guilty about it (you know, as opposed to a slice of cheesecake for lunch! Haha).

Healthy Yogurt Toppings!

20110915-085211.jpgLately I’m on a Greek yogurt kick. I buy flavored yogurt for The Boyfriend and plain fat-free Greek yogurt for me. I am in complete awe at the high protein content and why I had never converted before! Yogurt is what I run to when I’m craving something sweet, and due to my sweet tooth, I have played around with quite a few ingredients.

Here are a few of my favorite yogurt mix-ins! I’ve tried to keep them on the healthier side, if I’m going to have a quality snack like Greek yogurt, I don’t want to overdo it with the add-ins. Also, since I use plain yogurt, I have more flexibility with what I add to flavor the yogurt.

Enjoy 😛

  Plain yogurt with:

  • honey drizzle & chopped nuts (walnuts or almonds are great)
  • toasted coconut flakes & Splenda/Stevia extract
  • 1/8 tsp coconut extract & Splenda/Stevia extract
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder, & Splenda/Stevia Extract
  • Fresh fruit (especially berries: strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries make it seem like a dessert!) (more…)

I haven’t posted in quite some time because I’ve had a “series of unfortunate events.”

1. Car broke down and required repairs-$

2. Went on a road trip and had a wonderful time! (Florida–North Carolina–Washington D.C.- -Buffalo, NY–Niagara Falls (Canada side)–Long Island, NY, Manhattan, NY–Atlantic City–Florida) $$

3. Returned from vacation only to to be welcomed by a leaking water heater which needed to be replaced-$

4. School back in session, report for duty with my 4th graders and get home from my first day to find a front door that is wide open, sliding glass door completely removed, and all my belongings either stolen, or thrown about the house. My townhouse was broken into and my stuff stolen and thrown all over. $$$$$$$

I put a little twist on my usual bicep workout the other day and…um…OUCH!

I definitely felt soreness in my biceps the next morning.

Here it is:

  • Standing barbell curl
  • Alternating dumbbell curl
  • Preacher Curls
  • Incline Curls
  • Hammer Curls

It was a Tuesday evening, I was relaxing, just sitting on the couch watching Food Network, when I suddenly felt the urge to eat something sweet. I did mention it was Tuesday right?  Now, I am not normally one to indulge in a dessert on a weeknight, so I quickly began flipping through recipes I had clipped, printed, saved, etc, for something that would satisfy my craving, however, not cause me to feel like I tossed my diet down the drain on a Tuesday!

Then I found it. I found a recipe for Peanut Butter Oatmeal Honey Balls that were too good to be true.
